You Can’t Take It When You’re Gone was written between 2019 right up until the recording sessions at Nat’s home in early 2021 - ‘the summer between lockdowns’. The title is a phrase Nat’s late grandfather would often use - a bittersweet sentiment on living in and for the moment. This sentiment pervades the album throughout, alongside themes of love and longing: for people, for place, for sense of self.

All songs were written and recorded by Nat (except Start Again poem written by Tamara Marrington), and feature Snowy on drums and Tamara Marrington on keys, and Nat's mum Chrissie Pavlovic on some BVs. The album was mixed by Snowy, and mastered by Bonnie Knight.
